My research interests are in the field of applied electromagnetics, namely electromagnetic imaging, non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E), antenna design, and millimeter wave (mmWave) propagation in 5G cellular networks. Some of the research projects I am/was involved in at AUS:
Development of a microwave imaging system using a phased-array antennas.
Design of a wearable microwave tomography system for bone density estimation.
Channel sounding at 28 GHz and 38 GHz mmWave 5G frequencies.
Building material characterization at mmWave 5G frequencies.
Non-destructive detection of cracks in metallic and non-metallic surfaces.
Using commodity WiFi signals for imaging, material characterization, and crowd management.
Design of RF systems for CubeSats.
My research is conducted mainly at the microwave imaging, non-destructive testing, and evaluation laboratory (MINEL) at AUS, UAE.
A comprehensive list of my publications can be found here, while information about the currently funded projects can be found here.
In addition to research, I am always engaged with undergraduate students in various interesting capstone senior design project. A list of these projects can be found here.
